ARCHIVES
The contents of the archives are almost entirely post World War II and apart from a couple of videos are all paper based. It is the Associations aim to store all material electronically for easier access by members. The vast majority of the archives consists of copies of:
- LVTA Newsletters
- London Taxi Trade newspapers
- London Taxi manufacturers advertising material
- Workshop manuals and parts lists for FX4 early models
- Non-fiction and fiction books concerning taxis
- Copies of manufacturers sales registers; Austin and Beardmore
- Photographic collection
Items are always welcome, if you have finished with an item why not find out if the Archivist would like it to help fill up his bulging bookcase?
Enquires from members for information will be given prompt attention and if the archives don't hold the answer very often association members can assist. For ease of worldwide communication emails are the preferred medium of correspondence but obviously anything sent by "snailmail" will be also be answered.
